I noticed afterwards that there were problems with my ControlLincs and KPL. They worked fine (i.e., press the key, and the desired event happens), but...

 a) when pressing keys on a ControlLinc, the LED goes dark and then flashes several times in a manner that I am used to seeing when there is a COMM failure.

 b) In Insteon Explorer -> Links, all the links were still associated with the old POWERLINC, there were no LINKS to the PLM (so how did everything work?)

So in Insteon Explorer -> Links, I went through all my keypad devices (Controllinc + KPL) and added a set of links to the PLM. The only difference was that for PLC the button # was always 0, which is illegal for PLM, so I made the button # match the group # (good guess?). Then I SAVED all the links out to the devices.

I think it made things work better (I'm getting Group Cleanup Commands when before I got only Group Broadcast), but there are still problems:

 1) the POWERLINC still shows up in the links of all the Keypad devices. I removed it from devices and now "UNKNOWN DEVICE" shows up in all these links - how do you delete a link?

 2) problem a) from above still exists. (Controllinc's look like they're flagging an error whenever keys are stuck).

Did I do this right? What should I have done? (I did a db backup before i started so I can revert).

 Thanks
 /j
