i run powerhome as a service on a remote system that also handles vpn traffic. the system is an amd athlon 2400+ with 768 meg of ram. all it does is handle the vpn and powerhome. task manager shows the load to be about nothing....

the problem that i'm having is that the vpn stutters when powerhome is running with status check for instion enabled. disable that and the vpn is fine.

i suspect that this is an interrupt problem (usb interrupts for the plm vs. ethernet interrupts for the vpn) more than a strict process priority issue, but i'd like to try dialing back powerhome's priority to below normal and see if this gives me some relief.

is there a way to control powerhome's process priorities when running as a service?

edit: this isn't a ph problem. i'm just looking to bandaide this until i can upgrade some hardware.

 thanks,
 ken

You might try Process Explorer to set PH to a lower priory for testing but that won’t do it permanently. You really don’t need to run scan unless there is some major change.
