Double click on the blue T shaped Icon in the system tray and compare to the following PLC connect activity.

You do not see the blue T shaped Icon in the system tray when you start Powerhome?

If the blue T shaped Icon appears in the system tray PH is loading SDM3. What level SDM3, 308 or 235 are you running. If not 308, execute the 308.bat file in the Device Manager subdirectory in the Powerhome program files. Did you recently get a USB driver update from Microsoft.

Any recent changes in your system or did this just start out of the blue? Also, what OS are you running? If you say Vista, then I might know whats going on.

Let me know and we'll proceed from there.

 Dave.

Did you install PowerHome in the default install directory (c:\program files\powerhome) or did you install into the Vista recommended directory (c:\powerhome)?

Im suspecting that you're in the c:\program files\powerhome and that auto-update may have affected settings concerning UAC. If you are installed into c:\program files\powerhome, I would copy your pwrhome.db and pwrhome.ini files to a safe location (these two at the minimum...if you're using plugins or have custom webpages, etc. then you'll want to copy those files as well). Check the date/time of the pwrhome.db and pwrhome.ini files to make sure that have the date/time you shut PowerHome down so you know you have the right ones. Next uninstall PowerHome and manually delete the PowerHome directorys. Follow these Vista instructions:

Install in c:\powerhome as an administrator

Copy over any files you had previously saved

pwrhome.exe should not be in XP compatibility mode and should not be run as administrator. UAC can be enabled.
sdm3.exe should have properties set for ALL USERS to run in XP compatibility mode.

May have to manually launch PowerHome as administrator a couple of times before its able to successfully launch sdm3.exe without errors.

Give that a try and lets see where we get.

 Dave.
